I’ve been reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey for a few weeks now and I can’t seem to get into it!
As some of you may know, it’s a fairly short book, especially in comparison to some other novels I’ve tackled in the past.
Super frustrating since I really have a hard time not finishing books in general, let alone when they’re somewhat considered classics.
You’d think that the fact there’s a movie out there just waiting for me to watch once I finish would form some sort of motivation to get into the story. BUT NOOOO.
So far, I’ve gotten past Part 1 (I even feel bad saying that, reading doesn’t usually feel like this much of a strenuous effort for me) and I’m slowly making my way through the second half.
I have SO MANY other books that I picked up at the October book sale in Quebec City just WAITING for it to be their turn. Not to mention the others that are permanent parts of the decor in our apartment that may have lost hope at this point…
It’s quite sad really.
Okay, goal is to finish this book today. Best get to it now…
*sigh*
