March Movie Madness!
Our monthly date from Hannah was a Cineplex soirée for two!
Coincidentally, we opened this on an evening where Riley and I had JUST returned from watching The Greatest Showman in theatres, aka my new obsession...
How hilarious that the timing worked out that way.
Since I had selected the best musical of all time (slight exaggeration), we decided that our March movie date would be a "Riley-pick".
One lazy Sunday afternoon, he picked The Shape of Water. I LOVE Guillermo del Toro flicks, and it doesn't hurt that it won Academy Award for Best Picture recently!
To our surprise, the small theatre was still packed (reminder: on a Sunday afternoon) with people. To an even greater surprise, some of these people brought their children along.
Without casting too much shade on anyone who brings/brought kids to this movie.. it's definitely NOT kid-friendly... It's barely 25-yr-old ME friendly!! I had to look away at some parts. No shame.
Since I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out earlier this week, I couldn't indulge in the free popcorn that came with our deal. *Sigh* Some things worked in Riley's favour. ;)
Another great date this month. It's surreal that we are now even closer to our 1 year anniversary!
