Ramanda Christmas 2016

Riley and I exchanged gifts before Christmas this year. This was done partially due to the fact that our schedule is going to be crazy this holiday season, and also due to the fact that I’m super impatient.

I LOVE putting together present packages and wrapping them all nice and neat. We didn’t have a real tree to put the gifts under this year, so I printed out a picture of a tree on the BIGGEST piece of paper I could find at work… Almost the same thing, right?

I lucked out and was able to buy a used PS3 that fit into our pre-determined budget and allowed me to get the things on Riley’s list that he actually asked for. I couldn’t just get him “shirts” and “wear” of the “under” variety after all.

His face when he opened up the PS3 was priceless. He barely looked happy / surprised. I later realized it was pure shock. Once Riley hooked up the console to the TV successfully and proved to himself that MLB 2016 would work, that’s when you could see the magical smile appear. He’s pretty much played every night since…

I also got him an assortment of “fancy nuts” like cashews and pistachios. He claims he is going to have 1 nut a night. We’ll see how long that lasts *sigh*.

On my end, I was BEYOND BLESSED with a few items I have been holding out on buying for myself for what seems like years!

Riley got me an Italian leather-bound journal from Indigo that I have been drooling over since I first moved to Montreal. It was the last gift that I opened and I cried so many tears of joy! He said it will be for our travels since there is a compass on the front. SO thoughtful.

He also picked up some whisky rocks. *EEEEK!* I’ve wanted some for so long!!! They are just as “cool” (hah, punny) as they sound folks. Similarly, he got me a wine corksicle that keeps your wine chilled. Fun fact: it kind of looks like a wizard’s wand. Now I can cool down the two drinks that cause everyone to shake their heads when I plop ice cubes in my glass.

The gift(s) I couldn’t believe he dared to get was some Lush bath bombs and bubble bar. HAVE YOU SEEN THE LINE-UPS IN THAT STORE during this time of year??! It’s intense! I can’t wait to relax and use those luxury products. Side note: we watched bath bomb demos on YouTube for at least half an hour before falling asleep that night.

We’re exchanging stockings tomorrow so that will bring a whole new series of screams-of-delight and tears-of-joy!

I absolutely LOVE Christmas. And to think, we get to celebrate another 4-5 times with different sets of our family over the next couple of weeks. What a joy!

Have yourself a merry little Christmas everyone. I’m sure I’ll tune in before the new year, so I’ll hold off on those well wishes for now.
