Scc Spa Urbain: Manicure + Eye Brows

Riley started doing some digital marketing consultant work for a downtown Montreal spa. Owner, Sylvie-Chantale (SC), had been begging him to bring me in so she could show me the ropes and see what types of spa services I would be interested in testing out.

We made our way over last Saturday afternoon for me to get my first manicure in sooooo long. From the moment we walked in, I knew I was going to like Scc Spa Urbain.

We were greeted with a “hello beautiful people!” from SC. The whole time she really made me, an inexperienced spa-goer, feel welcome and valued as a customer and a person.

The neat and accommodating spa environment went beyond my expectations. I have been to many spas in the Montreal and Quebec City areas and this one takes the cake! I’m a little biased given the fact that Riley had already given me a verbal raving review about how cool it was.

The whole time I felt pampered, and I even got to have a tea in the cutest little tea set!!

After small-talk chatting with SC, I started my manicure. There were so many colours to choose from! It was interesting to learn about some of the all-natural / vegan products they use. SC really seems to be open to trying out new products that are highly-recommended as being good for the health, environment, you name it.

I tried out a new light pink breathable nail polish by Orly. No base coat, no top coat, since it was a 3-in-1 polish. It lasted no-chips for a good 4-5 days. I was pretty impressed seeing that I usually see chips the next day thanks to the hustle and bustle of typing on keyboards at work.

After my manicure, SC told me we absolutely needed to take care of my eyebrows. I’d never had any work done on them, and only once did I attempt to wax the middle space in high school.

Within a few minutes, and even fewer tense-up moments from the wax strips being peeled off (honestly, it barely even hurt..) I had new eyebrows!

SC even took the time to apply some Jane Iredale foundation makeup to reduce the redness. It was awesome to be able to travel home on Montreal public transit without everyone’s eyes glued to the red semi-circles above my eyeballs. Just call me Sensitive-Skin-Sweeney…

To top it all off, upon leaving, I equipped myself with the perfect accessory for recently manicured nails: Starbucks coffee.

It really was an amazing day.

I would (and will) highly recommend to any and all that are looking for spa services, or for those who need a little pampering (everyone!) that you pay a visit to Scc Spa Urbain in Montreal.

I went back a week later to get my very first spray tan and test out a new brand of nail polish. More on that next post!
