It was our first weekend getaway together and it was a huge success!
After seeing my longstanding girl gang together again at my summer wedding, I knew in my heart the squad-hang was long overdue.
We all booked our calendars way in advance (it's hard to coordinate schedules when majority of us live in different cities), and committed to a weekend at a cabin in the woods.
Yes, on our way in, it was somewhat scary-movie like, but nothing else proved to be even slightly terrifying... with the exception of the big snow we received on the eve of our departure.
I'm getting ahead of myself!
Em and I arrived first after a long traffic-filled drive. We had some time to hustle and get our surprise "pre-grad party" (it's a thing okay...) set up for Hannah, the last of our crew to graduate later on this year.
Once Hannah & Heidi arrived, we popped some bubbly, cranked up the tunes, and made supper. It was so much fun clinking glasses with the girls who have been through years of good times and, of course, dramz.
We made up our own game of "4 Things" which consists of you trying to find four things people in the room don't know about you, and others have to guess which of the things belongs to each person. I challenge you all to play this with friends! It goes without saying, you play in a judgement-free zone.
Our cabin had a HOT TUB. I kid you not, our Coronas froze outside in the cold... I'd never seen that before.
The next day we went for a walk and snapped a few photos to remember the weekend.

It was such a beautiful day.
Saturday night, we had a fondue supper with all the fixings and talked the night away. More hot tub, more hollering laughs, and more hanging out.
Heaps of powdery snow fell overnight. Heidi had to catch a flight and we all woke up to power-clean the cabin and get the cars out before it was too late! Good news, we all made it up the snowy driveway and were on our way home in no time.
Surprisingly, we packed too much wine. No surprise, we packed too much food. We always do!
I'll hold everyone to the unanimous decision to go on a big girls trip by the time we're 30. However, since that's five year's away, and we're all wondering what the area looks like in summer, I'm thinking we may have to go back soon and find out! ;)
